We have secured a football field and indoor classroom setting at a local High School that’s only a short distance from the Strip. Perfect spot if you are staying at the Rio for WPPI. Official location given once you lock in your booking.
Your travel to get to Vegas or to the High School is not covered in your workshop fee. But there are plenty of Uber type services to get you there quick.

This is a practical, real-world workshop for anyone ready to level up, from beginners to 20-year veterans. We skip the high-tech jargon and focus on how I actually work a photoshoot for my clients. You’ll learn to tackle real challenges and find real solutions from a full-time photographer.
It’s a hands-on learning intensive. While the primary goal is mastery of the craft rather than high-volume shooting, the class size is kept small so you get direct, guided feedback. You’ll work through various scenarios with real subjects, giving you the chance to apply the lighting and posing techniques as we go. The goal is to give you the skills to create these same high-end results for your own clients.
Definitely not. The lighting, posing, and workflow I teach are the exact same tools I use for every portrait session I do. These skills cross over perfectly into high school seniors, families, business headshots, and environmental portraits.
No. This workshop is focused on the art of portrait photography. While we may incorporate some movement, we will not be covering how to capture live-game action.
We’ll send a full list once you book. Plan on your camera, 1-2 lenses, a laptop or notepad, and comfortable shoes. We provide the off-camera lighting and modifiers. We’ll have limited triggers for Nikon, Fuji, and Canon; if you use another brand, let us know so we can help you coordinate a trigger.
We’ll be shooting young adult athletes in my “Sports Fashion” style (suits and casual outfits). I believe it’s vital to learn using “regular people” who don’t already know how to pose, rather than professional models who do the work for you.
To maximize our 7 hours of instruction, we use a “working session” format without a formal meal break. Please pack a light meal or snacks so we can keep the momentum going through the classroom and field lessons.
You are responsible for your own transportation to the site. The locations are within 10 miles of the Strip and are easily accessible via a quick, affordable Uber or Lyft ride. We will provide the exact address once your booking is confirmed.
Rain is rare in Vegas, but we have a plan. If we can’t be on the field, we’ll move inside the gym to work on indoor lighting and portraits. We’re hitting the ground running regardless of the weather.
You’ll be contacted within 24 hours to either receive an invoice to lock in your spot or to answer any specific questions you have.
No, this is a private, independent workshop. While I’ll be attending WPPI all week and hanging out at sponsor booths in the expo (come say hi!), this event is designed to offer a level of depth and one-on-one time that isn’t possible in a convention seminar. It’s meant to be the perfect deep-dive supplement to your WPPI experience.
