We get to put another notch in our belt as we expand to yet another school! Southlake Carroll Senior, Jake is an avid golfer and enjoys his time out on the links. We joined him at the Timarron Country club for some amazing Fashion Sports Portraits. Check them out below!
Jake is a graduating 2020 senior at Southlake Carroll. He was a member of the golf team, but this year decided that he would forgo playing on the school team so that he could focus on other things during his senior year. That is a great thing about an individual sport like golf. You can enjoy it whenever you like and for the rest of your life. (Unless you are me who can’t hit the ball to save his life)
Southlake Carroll is an independent private high school just outside of Grapevine Texas. You have probably heard of Carroll’s football team who challenge for the state title every year. I love whenever we get to photograph a senior at a school we have not yet had any. It’s a great feeling to know we are reaching more students with the type of photography that we do.
We wanted to focus on some of Jake’s passion for golf but wanted a location that we could take none golf photos as well. With my background in wedding photography, we have photographed a lot of portraits out on the green. It always provides a beautiful background.
Jake’s wardrobe started out with this casual, modern blue 2-piece suit with brown belt and shoes with an open collared white shirt. He later switched it up with jeans and a polo shirt for more a more casual look.
After graduation, Jake will be heading to the University of Texas at Austin where he will be majoring in Political Science. He plans to continue his passion for golf as a hobby and is excited to get started in Austin. We hope that all of the graduates of 2020 will be able to start their college experience off on the right foot this Fall.
That is a great school… but they are still going to lose if they play Penn State at football (obligated to say this).
Some of my favorite shots from this shoot are what we got in the sand trap. I had this idea for a look with his shoes and socks off and his feet in the sand, almost like we were at the beach. An important tip if you are going to work in the sand traps… wrap up that cell phone! As is normally true, you will find sand everywhere, including down in the charging port of your phone.
But it is all worth it if you get killer shots like these!
